Dancing with the Stars veteran Artem Chigvintsev was arrested in Napa, California on domestic violence charges and is now in jail, TMZ reported today.
The arrest came three days after Chigvintsev celebrated his wedding anniversary with his wife, Nikki Garcia.
It is unclear whether Garcia was involved in the events that led to Chigvintsev’s arrest.
It’s worth noting, however, that on Wednesday, Garcia posted a post on Instagram indicating that she was also in Napa.
The couple met in 2019 after working together on DWTS.
Garcia is a retired WWE wrestler and television personality and a celebrity opponent of Chigvintsev.
Earlier this week, she paid tribute to Chigvintsev in a post celebrating the couple’s anniversary.
Garcia wrote in the lyrics to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”:
“This song is our love story. I will never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem.
“Talking to Him and God. What I was feeling felt too fast. Everything felt too fast. And then this song came along.
“I knew then that I was in love with him and that it was meant to be.
In a comment on the post, Chigvintsev called Garcia his “everything.”
“Happy anniversary, my love, I can’t live without you,” he added.
The couple have a four-year-old son.
TMZ reports Chigvintsev’s bail is set at $25,000.
We don’t know whether the charges are felonies or misdemeanors or how many crimes Chigvintsev is charged with.
Details are scarce at this time and it would be wrong to make any assumptions about the situation.
But Garcia’s lack of any public comments has led many to jump to the conclusion that she was involved in the incident.
TMZ reports that they have reached out to both parties but have yet to hear back.
