As one of the affected players with access to older versions of the game, we know you may be experiencing some issues after the recent patch. We apologize for any inconvenience caused… Once you confirm that you have the latest version, please start a new save in order to fully enjoy Star Wars: Desperados as our team intended. If you continue with a previous save, you will unfortunately face issues and progress blocks.

On August 28, Ubisoft seemed to realize how Some players were frustrated by the newssent out another message promising to make up for the inconvenience. Here’s the full message, posted via Reddit:
We are following up on a previous email we sent you about “issues with outdated versions on PlayStation 5.”
We fully acknowledge that asking you to start a new game, especially during Early Access, is not the best experience, and we apologize for that.
To make your return to Outer Rim even more special, we’re giving you an in-game Pathfinder trinket as well as 100 Ubisoft Connect units (for example, to redeem for in-game rewards). We’re actively working on adding Ubisoft Connect units to your account so you can use them as soon as possible, and you’ll be able to claim the trinkets from the shipping crates behind the Trailblazer once you arrive at Toshara.
Thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoy the game.
If you’re wondering what Ubisoft Connect units are, they are points you earn for completing challenges in most Ubisoft games. They can be used to unlock additional skins, resources, and other small bonuses in the game. You can also purchase 100 items at the Ubisoft Store and enjoy a 20% discount. And the Pioneer jewelry almost feels like rubbing salt in the wound. “Here’s a trinket to put in your spaceship, the same one you got stuck in the last time you played the game!”
Regardless, hopefully all of these issues will be resolved by the time the game officially launches on August 30th. Let’s all remember that paying extra up front is stupid, bad, and no one should support it.
