ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) is a feature that detects external sounds and cancels them.
Apple on its website explain ANC refers to “one or more outward-facing microphones that detect external sounds, which your AirPods Pro (1st or 2nd generation) or AirPods Max then cancel out through noise cancellation before you hear the external sounds. Eliminate it.
The noteworthy message from the leaker is that Apple is improving the ANC in the upcoming new AirPods Pro 3 and incorporating it into the new base model AirPods 4 for the first time.
Kosutami has not confirmed when these new AirPods will be launched. However, all signs point to an Apple event in September. Although Apple has also begun hosting October events, these events seem to be reserved specifically for Mac launches. Any new AirPods launch would appear to be more closely aligned with September’s annual iPhone event.
So stay tuned as we’ll learn more about Apple’s new AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods 4 in the coming weeks.
