Apple’s iPad mini hasn’t been updated since 2021, but there are signs that a new product is coming.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman noted that “many” Apple stores are out of stock of various iPad mini configurations. He said the device was considered “restricted” internally.

This could mean Apple hopes to launch a new iPad mini soon, though Gurman didn’t provide any clues as to whether this would be released at the iPhone launch event scheduled for September 9.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that a new iPad mini is in the works. In July, reports stated that Apple plans to launch a new iPad mini in 2024, and there are indications that the device will be equipped with Apple’s A17 chip. This should enable the iPad mini to run Apple Intelligence, and Gurman said he “wouldn’t be surprised to see it updated for artificial intelligence.”
