For much of the first season, Galadriel hung out with a hottie named Halbrand (Charlie Vickers) on Mankind’s great island civilization of Númenor. It is said that Halbrand was once the King of the Southlands. He was later driven out of his homeland by the Orcs and was forced to set sail on the Split Sea – where he found Galadriel, and the two were eventually captured by the Númenorean captain. Elendil rescued. After spending some time there (Galadriel was not allowed to leave at first), she convinced Halbrand to join her in the fight to reclaim the Southlands, and the two defeated the orc leader A’dal. However, Halbrand was injured when a massive volcano erupted, and had to be healed with elven magic in the city of Oster-in-Ahir – where he met Celebrimbor and helped convince him to use the secret Silver creates the Ring of Power.
But when Halbrand comes to Celebrimbor’s aid, Galadriel discovers that the last king of the Southland died long ago without an heir. It was then that Harbrand revealed himself to be Sauron in disguise, and after a brief battle with Galadriel fled to his new home of Mordor.
