Alien: Romulus Filled with a lot of cool nods to previous films, there are obviously some Easter eggs involving Ellen Ripley that fans may have missed.
The film is based on the following events alien and alienso Ripley is floating in space waiting to be discovered.
director Fede Alvarez was a recent guest on the ReelBlend podcast, where he joked about hidden Easter eggs Sigourney WeaverEllen Ripley and where she might appear in the movie.
When asked if Ripley could be integrated into Romulus’ storyline, the filmmaker said: “I wouldn’t say it’s impossible because no one knows for sure what happened in the years when she drifted away. What happened.
He added: “I can’t say more. I think for legal reasons I can’t say more. I would say it’s not impossible. I think it’s entirely possible that it could be part of the story in some way.
Alvarez later added: “I was hiding something in that movie, and that’s the answer to that question. It was well hidden. But they were kind of hiding in plain sight.”
He explained that he “planted some clues into the movie” but if he revealed them now, “it would kind of defeat the whole purpose.”
Well, looks like I’ll have to watch the movie again and try to find those clues!
In the film, a group of young space colonists encounter the most terrifying life forms in the universe as they search the depths of an abandoned space station.
