Star Wars: Acolyte Star Lee Jung JaeThe star, who plays Master Thor on the show, recently opened up about the show being canceled after one season.
While some Star Wars fans saw the news of the cancellation, Jung-Jae was “personally very surprised” and disappointed when he heard the news.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lee said: “As you know, my character died in season one. So if there is a second season I won’t be in it.
“But personally, I really like Leslye’s [Headland] writing. I think she’s a great writer and director, very talented at telling stories, creating characters, and creating meaningful structures in stories.
“So I’m personally really looking forward to watching Season 2 with her at the helm.”
The actor went on to explain that he’s not giving up hope for a second season, saying: “Honestly, I hope that might change in the future because you never know what’s going to happen. So, personally, I Really hope we get to see more of Leslie’s story in season 2.
Fans of the series haven’t given up hope, and they recently launched a “Save the Acolytes” campaign to try to convince Disney to change its mind about canceling the series.
If we do see the story continue in some way, it will most likely be in comic book form. We’ll just have to wait and see.
