Well…except Betty and Veronica.

“As a huge Archie fan, this is just a pure joy project for me,” King said in a statement. “I wanted to make something funny, cool, weird, hysterical, gorgeous, flippant, maybe a little bit small, a little bit profound, to pay homage to my Golden and Silver Age Archie heroes – people like that Dan DeCarlo, harry lucy, Bob Bolling, Bob Montanaand Sam Schwartz. Who better to do that than modern-day Archie guru Dan Parent?
“I had the opportunity to meet Tom King at Comic-Con a few years ago,” Parent said. “I’m already a huge fan; he’s an author whose work I love and have been fascinated by for years! The fact that he’s a fan of Archie and is so appreciative of my work is such a surprise . We struck up a friendship and started talking about working together. It’s a great story that includes everyone in the Archieverse!
“This story contains all the elements of the classic Archie comedy, but with a modern twist,” Parent continued. “It’s been an honor to work with one of the best writers in modern comics, and the fact that he’s a great guy and friend doesn’t hurt at all!”
King added: “This is an epic, raucous story that features dozens of Archie characters and Dan and I grapple with the biggest dilemma in comics’ nearly 85-year history. I’m not sure we can solve this. Problem, but, like everyone in Riverdale, we’re going to have a lot of fun trying it.
