Chick-fil-A fast food restaurant is looking to launch a streaming platform. The chicken chain has been working with Hollywood production companies and studios to create family-friendly, mostly unscripted original programming. They are also in talks to license and acquire content, according to sources involved in the project.
One of the shows is Glassman Media (NBC’s wall) and Sugar23 (Netflix’s 13 reasons), 10 episodes have been scheduled.
Sources revealed that the budget for the improv show was approximately $400,000 per half-hour. Chick-Fil-A is also considering scripted projects and animation. Top equipment and X factor Alumnus Brian Gibson leads the way in programming.
While Chick-fil-A is best known for its chicken sandwiches and waffle fries, the company is looking to get into the reality TV business, which has shrunk over the past few years.
The company previously produced a series of animated shorts for its website, “Tales from Evergreen Mountain,” and launched its own brand of children’s games and puzzles, Pennycake.
It sounds like fans of Kirk and Candace Cameron have some great content in store for them.
