The sphere is wrapping back to U2.
Las Vegas’ groundbreaking entertainment venue confirmed to present V-U2is an immersive concert film directed by Morleigh Steinberg and band member The Edge. The film will be released on September 5 and is billed as a “one-of-a-kind cinematic experience” focusing on the iconic band’s first performance with U2:UV Attention baby Live in the sphere.
From September 2023 to March 2024, U2 performed to more than 700,000 fans on 40 sell-out dates. chart-topping album Attention babywhich plays a complete selection of tracks from other U2 works over the years. V-U2 is the first film to be shot entirely using Big Sky, an ultra-high-resolution camera system developed by Sphere Entertainment to allow audiences to experience the feeling of a live performance. V-U2 Produced by The Edge, Bono and Adam Clayton and producer Alan Moloney. Stefaan “Smasher” Desmedt, the director of the original film, also serves as the film’s assistant director. Musical production was handled by Jacknife Lee and long-time U2 sound director Joe O’Herlihy. Sphere Studios’ Andrew Shulkind served as director of photography, and the project was edited by Sphere Studios’ Robert Rivers Malina. Irving and Jeffrey Azoff, who lead U2’s management team, will receive executive producer credits on the film.

Tickets start at $100 and will go on sale to the public on August 23. Next up is the Eagle. On the film side, Sphere also showcases Darren Aronofsky’s Postcards from Earth.
