The next game in the Mafia series has a nice trailer, which features lots of booze, guns, oil paintings, and small talk about bad things happening to you if you don’t commit to your family. Yes, it looks like those of us who unabashedly love The Godfather and write some crazy features about indie games are having a blast here.

“Uncover the origins of organized crime through a brutal gangster story set in the brutal underworld of Sicily in the 1900s,” reads a plot summary in the accompanying 2K press release. Fight for survival through the critically acclaimed Mafia series known for its authentic realism and rich storylines.
“In the first three games of the Mafia series, we introduced players to the world of the Mafia through brutal stories from different eras,” added Nick Baynes, President of Hangar 13. “In Mafia: Old Country , we’re going back to the roots that fans love about the series, crafting a deep linear narrative with the feel of a classic gangster movie, visiting stunning new locations, and delivering it all in a tight, focused way for fans of an immersive experience.
Mafia: The Old Kingdom will be released for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 in 2025, and the trailer hints that we will see more content this December. At the same time, 2K said that all released “Mafia” series games will be available on Steam before September 2.
