Book-to-film adaptations have become increasingly popular over the past few years, with domestic thrillers becoming one of the main genres.
Peacock is adapting “Her Fault,” one of the most notorious mystery novels of the past few years, into a limited series.
While details about the series are still scarce, we’ve gathered some important details even at this early stage, so read on for our detailed analysis of them.

The streaming platform gave Her Fault a straight-to-series order during Peacock’s winter TCA press tour.
What was her fault?
“Her Fault” is adapted from Andrea Mara’s 2021 novel of the same name.
When Marissa learned that her youngest son was missing, like many communities, rumors and accusations quickly began to fly.
This is the official log line:
In Chicago, Marissa Irvine arrived at 14 Arthur Avenue to pick up her young son, Milo, who had just played with a boy for the first time at his new school. But the woman who opened the door was not the mother she knew. She is not a nanny. She didn’t have Milo. This is how every parent’s worst nightmare begins.
Judging from the other movie adaptations of dramatic suspense novels we’ve seen, fans of Liane Moriarty’s Big Little Lies are sure to enjoy this one too.
How does All Her Faults compare to the novel?
Andrea Mara’s novel Her Fault has been listed by The Sunday Times as one of the best crime novels of 2021, largely for its emotionally compelling plot and well-developed characters.
It examines responsibility from multiple angles, starting with Marissa, who wonders why she allowed her son Milo to be picked up from school by a man she had never met.
However, we also read Jenny’s voice and fear of what was happening, so it will be interesting to see if this applies to the TV series as well.
The film adaptation of the original book is slightly different. The original story takes place in Dublin, while the TV series takes place in the suburbs of Chicago.
Detective McConville was a female in the books, and they gender-swapped the character to male in the series.
This may not be important, but it’s an interesting tidbit.
How many episodes does “Her Fault” have?
We don’t know how many episodes “Her Fault” will have, but most limited series are around eight.
We will update this page as we learn more.
Who is her fault?
Several cast names have been released since the project was announced in February, and we’ve gathered some info on what roles they’ll be playing.
Sarah Snook (Succession) stars as Marissa Owen, who experiences every parent’s worst nightmare when her son goes missing.
Dakota Fanning (Ripley) plays Jenny, the mother of the child Marissa’s son is supposed to play with.
Abby Elliott (Bear) stars as Leah. We don’t know much about Leah’s character yet, but we’re guessing it’s important since Abby Elliot and Dakota Fanning have been announced to be teaming up.
Sophia Lillis (“I’m Not Okay With This”) stars as Carrie, Jenny’s nanny.
Jack Lacy (“The Apple Never Falls”) plays Peter Owen, Marissa’s husband.
Michael Pena (played by Jack Ryan) plays Detective McConville, the police officer responsible for the case.
Who is the creator behind all her faults?
Megan Gallagher (“Wolf”) serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer.
Gallagher co-produced “Wolves” and wrote episodes for Apple TV + Suspicion, both of which told stories about children whose lives are upended when they are abducted or killed.
She will have experience dealing with these difficult emotional arcs.
In addition to starring as the female lead, Sarah Snook will serve as an executive producer on the series.
Andrea Mara, the author of the book, will serve as one of the associate producers.
Other EPs include Carnival Films’ Nigel Marchant, Gareth Neame and Joanna Stevens (The Day of the Jackel).
Minky Spiro (“Downton Abbey”) will direct the first episode.
Is there a trailer for All Her Faults?
There is no trailer yet as filming has just begun.
TV Fanatic has got you covered, so bookmark this page and we’ll update it as soon as it’s available.
When will All Her Fault premiere?
“Her Fault” has yet to set a premiere date.
Since filming has just begun in Melbourne, Australia, it likely won’t premiere until sometime in 2025.
Where can I see all her faults?
“All Her Faults” will be a Peacock exclusive on streaming.
What other recent book-to-screen adaptations have been made of Peacock?
Peacock has already begun dabbling in games based on books.
Look at Liane Moriarty’s Apples Never Fall for a similar style to Andrea Mara.
It explores the dysfunctional Delaney family following the disappearance of matriarch Joey Delaney.
The show also stars Jake Lacy, who has appeared in many miniseries.
One of Us Lies also faces suspicion when four teenagers, Bronwyn, Nate, Cooper and Addy, become suspects after the death of their classmate Simon. It follows the young adult suspense novel by Karen M. McManus.
If you prefer YA novels about vampires, the adaptation of Vampire Academy is popular because it explores the relationship and forbidden romance between Rosemary Hathaway and her best friend.
“Her Fault” will take viewers on an emotional rollercoaster ride with Marissa and piece together the clues to find young Jacob.
With Megan Gallagher’s experience writing emotional stories and an all-star cast, “Her Fault” has the potential to be a successful film adaptation of a novel.
