It looks like fans of the incredible Apple TV+ series It’s Always Sunny will finally get some answers!
Throughout the first season, the problems kept piling up.
Is Massa really dead? Why is he so secretive about his work? What is his relationship with Ji? How did the gang get involved in all this chaos?
There are only a few episodes left until we finally get the answers to these questions.
But at the center of all of this, and the series itself, is Sunny, a home robot unlike any other. She’s a cool home robot.
From the beginning, Sunny had a unique and distinctive quality.
The series has been cautious about introducing other home robots.
However, in the few instances viewers see, we find that other robots are relatively inferior to her.
Audiences are first drawn to Sonny’s ability to understand and express human emotions.
Things progress further when Sunny competes with Mixxy, acting petty and sarcastic.
Things came to a head at the end of Sunny Season 1 Episode 7 when Sunny attacked Mixxy, an attack that all robots are programmed to have as a standard feature.
In an exclusive clip from Apple TV+’s Sunny Season 1, Episode 8, we might get a glimpse of where the idea for Sunny first started. Check out the clip below!
Obviously a flashback, we see Masa long before he started a happy family with Suzie and Zen.
Here we see an otherwise lonely Massa dove headfirst into his work, which the show has shown is crucial to this tech genius.
With the “junkbot” basically a Roomba with arms and speakers, we may be witnessing the origin story of everyone’s favorite home robot.
Who doesn’t want to reprogram their robot vacuum from time to time so they can stop trying to pick up things they shouldn’t?
God forbid there will be a leak anywhere.
So, in that regard, we understand why Masa felt the need to revise this outdated robot.
But perhaps the most crucial part of the clip comes in the final seconds. In it, we hear a voiceover from a man explaining what drives and motivates Martha.
“It’s been years since Massa allowed himself to care about something the way he suddenly cared about beating me.”
Son has a technological rival, which may have motivated him to create superior robots.
We can start speculating by assuming that the antagonist is the one who hands Sonny over to Suzy (Rashida Jones).
As the story and plot unfold, things start to speed up again.
Most importantly, however, as much as this series is funny with its perfectly campy comedy, it’s ultimately clear what’s really going on!
Do you think the man who spoke was the one who brought Sonny to Suzy?
Why do you think the gang is so focused on Sunny and Suzie?
