The rock star’s red-haired stepson bully has resurfaced through two ratings boards, raising hopes that a remake is imminent. However, things are not that simple.
Australia rated Bully (Canis Canem editor) on August 2, but the rating is unclear. Gematsu also discovered that Bully has been rated in Taiwan for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. The Xbox 360 version of the classic game also received a rating again, although Gematsu believed this was an error.
This naturally led to speculation that Rockstar might launch a new version of the game, perhaps similar to last year’s re-release of Red Dead Redemption.
Bully is actually already available on some modern platforms, just like RDR. For example, it can be played on PS4 via a PS2 analog version, and Bully: Scholarship Edition is available on Steam.
However, this new rating actually has a more reasonable, albeit unbelievable, reason: Rockstar announced on August 1 that Bully would be joining its GTA+ subscription service on August 20. It seems likely that the new ratings have something to do with that.
However, this has also sparked discussion, with some arguing that if Rockstar just released the existing version of the game on their service, they wouldn’t need to get a new rating. As someone who doesn’t quite understand the legality behind the rating system, this sounds like a reasonable argument
