Filming for the second season of “The Last of Us” has ended, but there is still a lot of post-production work to be done before the second season premieres in 2025. The network held a wonderful event.
“Congratulations to the incredible production team of The Last of Us Season 2. We’re now bringing your hard work home!” editor Timothy Goode wrote.
Previously, actress Isabella Merced, who plays Dina in the second season, said she had seen the trailer for the second season and said it was “really awesome.” She also said “Ellie” star Bella Ramsey deserves a lot of praise.
“I’m really proud of Bella. They’ve worked really, really hard, both physically and emotionally. One thing I’ve learned throughout this whole process is, ‘Wow, you can really admire people younger than you.’ You really You can respect them,” Merced said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast (via GamesRadar).
The Last of Us Season 2 will premiere in 2025, along with another high-profile series, Knights of the Seven Kingdoms: A Hedgehog. In addition to Merced joining as Dina, the second season also features Kaitlyn Dever as Abby and Jan Mazzino as Jesse.
It was also recently reported that Dever needed an extra security detail in The Last of Us Season 2, presumably due to the controversy surrounding Abby’s character.
As for the game series, Naughty Dog has heavily teased The Last of Us: Part 3 .
“I’ve been wondering – is there a concept there? [for The Last of Us 3]? For years I have been unable to find this concept. But things have changed recently,” Druckmann said in an interview published in February 2024. “I don’t have a story. But I do have this concept, and to me, it’s as exciting as one, as exciting as two,” he said. “As its own thing, but there’s this thread to all three. So it feels like there might be another chapter to this story.
