Looking back on the week, it might have been a good idea for Google to release the Pixel 9 earlier than usual in the product launch cycle, since iPhone leaks are all anyone’s talking about right now. The latest news is part of a number of other leaks that have surfaced this week, including a titanium colorway for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. They include white, black, silver gray and bronze. Unfortunately, the bronze looks brown to me.
The images came to the attention of Ice Universe, a trusted detective with a consistent track record of leaks. The tipster sets the stage for us here: “These are said to be the four colors of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.” That’s a pretty ominous way to introduce the leak to viewers. A photo then depicts four iPhone 16 Pro Max devices fanned out on a white table, as seen above.
Original image courtesy of Sonny Dickson, whose account is flooded with iPhone 16 leaks. A photo posted at the top of the Twitter/X/Whatever-it’s-company-now page shows off the five iPhone 16 colorways that were announced late last month, as confirmed by a leak on YouTube this week.
This brown, bronze iPhone 16 Pro Max has never been leaked until now. I turned off the yellow comfort filter on my monitor to see the color better, but it’s still brown. The whole lineup reminds me of the color palette from previous seasons colombowhich is another one of my favorite shows (almost as Beverly Hills, 90210). Only it’s less dreamy and set in 1970s Los Angeles. Brown evokes more of an institutional vibe—the first thing that comes to mind is government offices or the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Maybe the iPhone 16 Pro Max will look different in the sun. Maybe The artificial white lighting used in the leaked photos makes the rose gold tone even darker. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned that the rose gold color of the iPhone 15 Pro Max replaced the blue titanium color in May. this could be the one color.
Apple definitely has no Thanks to Main Line for this leak, take this all with a grain of salt until it comes from Tim Cook himself. We look forward to Apple telling us all about the iPhone 16 when it’s ready to be purchased.
