Hello, dear readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade roundup for August 15, 2024. Perhaps due to the holidays in Japan, temperatures this time of week are a little thinner than you might expect. Still, there are some games worth looking into, depending on personal preference. After that, we have new and upcoming sales for you to check out. That’ll be fine since I still have things to deal with during the holidays. Let’s take a closer look at these games!

Amazingly delicious ($24.99)
Phew, the description of this game has generated a lot of buzz. So, what can you do? It’s a Metroidvania-esque game with cooking elements, and it really tries to be fluffy and cool. It’s an ambitious game in some ways, so we’ll have to see if all of these elements come together well. Our friend Mikhail is working on this and looking forward to giving it a full review, so we’ll know soon if it’s worth a try.
Phantom Sparkle ($19.99)
It’s been a while since the last high-speed futuristic racer, so I guess we’re about to get another one. The game has over thirty tracks and supports up to four players through local or online multiplayer. There are also online rankings. I haven’t had a chance to play this game yet, but everything I’ve seen makes it look like it will be another decent entry in the genre.
Arco($19.99)
Okay, that’s good. It’s a turn-based game, but not in the traditional style. More like instant pause? But that’s not quite the case. Okay, let’s play with it and see. This is a revenge story where your protagonist works with various other people to solve a vendetta. You have to control your guilt while you’re away, because if you let it build up, you’re going to have more problems. What problems will occur with your bow and arrow Ako compared with various firearms? Mikhail will review this and I recommend you to pay attention to it.
Curve Drops ($4.99)
This is a fun and affordable puzzle game from the good folks at Noodlecake. Each of the over 250 stages gives you some kind of task that you need to complete by drawing shapes or curves. Some of its goals are very creative, which helps keep each quick-biting stage fresh and fun. What a great way to spend five bucks today.
Overlord($14.99)
This is a digital version of the popular board game that can be played alone against a CPU opponent or with up to 5 human players. As a boss, your goal is to build the most dangerous and deadly kingdom in order to score more points than your opponents. Place your pieces, arrange your minions appropriately, and see if you have what it takes to become the biggest, meanest boss of them all. This is an affordable alternative that may be popular with fans who want to save money on setup and cleanup.
South Lane ($4.99)
Another popular word describes heavy. Build a cute little street with cute little houses and adorable little characters and try to make everyone happy by being a nosy yet adorable little HOA overlord. No real pressure here, just hang out and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. It’s only a few hours, but only a few bucks. You could do worse.
Just Crow Stuff ($19.99)
We now have a handful of games based on the premise of a playful animal doing just about anything in human space, and frankly it was only a matter of time before one of them encountered nature’s trickster god, the crow. Be a crow, mess around, poop on things, be smart, and more. Just do those crow things. Collect shiny things, that’s important. This looks lovely and I’m sure if you’ve enjoyed any similar games in the past you’ll enjoy this one too.
The Teach: The Legend of the Mafia Pigeon ($8.99)
What I find strange is that we have two The game is now available on the eShop, where you play as a pooping bird. This one looks very different from the other one, though. This is more of a roguelite game, and pooping is a core mechanic. Travel through different neighborhoods, pooping on your targets, and avoiding the many groups that are hostile to the crazy defecating pigeons for one reason or another. Well, pick one or two. Or neither. There are many options on the table today.
Arcade Files Knucklehead ($7.99)
Namco is pretty much synonymous with fighting games now, thanks to iron fistIt is a long and powerful operation, but iron fist This isn’t the company’s first foray into the genre. Knucklehead It is a 2D fighting game, and its main gimmick is that it allows four players to fight at the same time. Mechanically it’s a very unusual game, but I guess in that sense it at least doesn’t become another game Street Fighter 2 I also ran away from the person I wanted to be. I wouldn’t call it a very high-quality game, but I suspect some might find charm in its quirks.
Space Raft ($9.99)
I think we live in an amazing time where an indie developer can make a retro-style game about the Milwaukee indie music scene and release it on a Nintendo console. Like, it’s an incredibly site-specific theme. But hey, cool. Embark on an adventure using your favorite Space Raft band members, which takes you through a series of stages filled with references that most of us can’t fathom. But maybe through this game, you might start to take steps toward understanding.
sales volume
(North American e-store, US prices)
There are a handful of new sales listings today, but nothing that immediately caught my attention. I would like to add a nice compilation that is error free for the day, for example Ssangyong & Guofu No.1 to your collection. There were a lot of good games in the inbox, but again nothing that really interested me. Still, take a look at both lists to see if there’s anything worth dropping your gaming cash on today.

That’s all for today, friends. We’ll be back tomorrow with the rest of the week’s releases, as well as any sales and breaking news that happened during the day. I’m tired of summer. For me, the cooler season can’t come soon enough. But since I live in Japan, I have to get through typhoon season first. It’s humid and hot, everyone’s favorite weather. I hope you all have an exciting Thursday, and as always, thank you for reading!
