Netflix has renewed Guy Ritchiecrime series gentlemen Season 2.
Theo James, Kaya Scodelario and Daniel Ings have signed on to reprise their roles in the eight-episode second installment of the hit series.
Ritchie, who was actually nominated for an Emmy for his directing work on Season 1, is returning to direct, and he’s also working with Matthew Reid.
Set in the world of Ritchie’s 2019 Miramax film of the same name, the show’s first season centers on Eddie Honeyman (James), who unexpectedly inherits his father’s vast country estate, only to discover that it’s Part of a cannabis empire.
Additionally, a number of unsavory characters from the British underworld want a piece of the action. Determined to free his family from their clutches, Eddie tries to play his own game with the gang.
However, when he is drawn into the world of crime, he begins to experiment and finds an unexpected ally in the sophisticated and ruthless Susie Glass (Scordelario).
When talking about the possibility before gentlemen Season 2, James said: “It wasn’t really discussed. I think it was going to be a debate between all of us and Guy.
“And, I think with a show like this, if you want to do more of it, you need to come up with a really interesting concept for a second season. Because as much as we love it and it’s interesting, it needs to be narrative-driven.”
Filming for the second season will begin next year.
