Purdie Distribution releases a new trailer for this beautifully crafted upcoming independent film tokyo denim. The owners of GeekTyrant, including myself Joey Paur, Free Reyes, and Justin Troung, are executive producers on this movie, it’s a movie we love and we hope you get a chance to see it. The film tells the story of a Japanese businessman who unknowingly embarks on a journey of self-discovery while on a company trip from Tokyo to a Montana ranch.
“Now feeling uneasy and disconnected in a foreign culture, Hideki realigns his values and life goals. Director Marc Marriott and cinematographer Oscar Ignacio Jiménez ) creates a vast skyscape that can reacquaint any of us in need of self-discovery.
The plot synopsis reads: “Arrogant Tokyo businessman Hideki (Arata Iura) arrives in Montana – known as the Big Sky Country – and convinces his Japanese bosses that he can turn an unprofitable U.S. Cattle ranch turned into an outperforming beef asset.
“However, when his Hardee’s-loving Japanese Wagyu expert sets him up for failure, Hideki is suddenly ready to fail unless he figures out on his own the one missing element that’s crucial to the transformation.”
The film premiered at the 2023 Tallgrass Film Festival last year, where it won Best Narrative Feature and the Audience Award. It also won Best Feature Film at the Sedona International Film Festival, Best Feature Film at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, and Best Feature at the Zion Independent Film Festival.
The film received a 100% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes after a lengthy run at multiple film festivals.
