Publisher Saber and developer Twirlbound announced today that The Knightling will launch in 2025.
The captivating-looking “fantasy action-adventure game that blends exploration, questing, combat and platforming in a semi-open world” will be released on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch next year .
According to the press release, you play as the titular knight, who takes up the shield after the powerful Sir Lion Stone mysteriously disappears.
Explore the enchanted land of Crethesia, battle monsters and bandits, uncover the kingdom’s long-lost secrets, and unlock the extraordinary power of Sir Leonstone’s mighty shield. Who says you need a sword to save the world? “
The Knights do not use any offensive weapons, choosing instead to use only Sir Lionstone’s massive shield. “Use the power of your shield to block, punch, parry, and create gaps in your enemy’s defenses, then unleash massive attacks and combos to get the job done,” the synopsis reads.
The shield can also be used to slide around the world, which sounds pretty cool.
