James Gunn Recently updated his supermanin the process he hinted that while the film is still a long way from being completed, there likely won’t be any reshoots.
A fan contacted Gunn on Threads and asked: “Did you also say you were 98% done? superman?
Gunn responded: “Heck, no. Once you’re done filming, you’ve just begun! There’s still a lot of editing, VFX, sound and scoring to do!”
Most big-budget superhero movies undergo reshoots. Marvel Studios and the previous DC regime are notorious for remakes, but Gunn doesn’t think so superman Any will be needed.
He went on to explain the process of avoiding reshoots:
1) Over-preparation
2) Don’t start filming until I finish the script that the whole team is happy with
3) Hire actors and department heads who I know can do the job
4) Surround myself with people who will challenge me, not just “yes sir”
5) Ask yourself every day – are there any small flaws in the script or what we’re shooting that might end up feeling like huge flaws when we’re editing the film together?
6) 1 and 2 again!
Gunn got it. He is one of the few filmmakers in Hollywood who truly understands that story is important and that there must be a complete, complete script before filming begins.
It seems simple, but most studios don’t approach it this way, which is why so many movies suffer and fail to live up to their true potential.
