Hellraiser 2’s latest update, Free Upgrade, wasn’t well received by fans, so much so that players protested by letting bots win.
Last week, Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead released one of the biggest updates to the game in a while, and players were quickly unhappy with the nerfs, causing the game to slip to a mixed rating on Steam. Even Arrowhead’s CEO said many developers themselves are unhappy with how things are going. As GamesRadar discovered, while these Steam reviews are clearly a way for players to express their frustrations, there’s another, potentially more drastic tactic being employed. Popular posts on the game’s Reddit subreddit and an unofficial Hellraiser 2 galaxy map prove that many players simply refuse to shoot down any robots, and now the robot bad guys are getting alarmingly close to Super Earth.
Let the robot move forward. Let the super-Earths burn.

“Even though it will cost me my last drop of blood, I will see the galaxy free again, and if I can’t save it from failed governing democracy, then let the galaxy burn!” one user wrote on Reddit Dow, who is clearly still struggling to maintain his character, as many players have been underperforming since the game launched earlier this year. Another user even pointed out that a robot invasion of Super Earth due to nerfs and players refusing to play the game is actually quite “realistic,” saying “Bad guns and outdated artillery will lose the war! So, we can’t defend Super Earth.” “Because our enemies have better weapons than we do, and Super Earth can only produce garbage for us to fight.”

Obviously, it’s unclear if Arrow actually explains the automaton that brought it so close to a super-Earth that it might even successfully invade Earth, so we’ll have to see how long this lasts. A faulty explanation for why Helldivers suddenly win might not be well received, so it’s a strict balancing act – let’s hope the developers address player concerns before the war ends.
