At D23 this weekend, a new land based on the popular monsters inc. The franchise is coming to Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios in Florida. During the Horizon: Disney Experience showcase, Disney Experience boss Josh D’Amaro revealed a new monsters inc. The park land will be put into construction soon.
As per usual, the story of the amusement park takes place after the first movie. “Humanity is now invited to visit the world of Monsters, Inc., and the monsters need laughter to power the city and keep it running smoothly,” Disney said of the ride on its website.
“But it wouldn’t be a true tour without the factory itself. You’ll be able to see the sights, hear the laughter, and zip through the building through a door just like James P. Sullivan (aka Sulley) and Mike Wazowski! “
The centerpiece of the park is a suspended ride that allows park visitors to ride along the iconic Monsters, Inc. gates that serve as a bridge between our world and theirs.
“The first time I saw monster power company…, all I wanted to do was ride on one of the doors like Mike and Sully,” D’Amaro said at D23.
“You’ll enter the facility and experience Disneyland’s first-ever suspended roller coaster. Remember in the movie how those claws grabbed the doors and lifted them into the air to carry them away? We’re doing it too. You’re coming along too Bar.
Construction will begin in 2025.
