Below is a series of fascinating “then and now” videos provided by the Games, showing us the evolution of some of the Olympic attractions from Stockholm 1912 to Tokyo 2020.
Although the technology and mechanics of sports have changed, the basic premise has remained essentially the same. The biggest difference was in the women’s 10m high diving, which in 1912 only consisted of running off the platform and diving.
Witness the evolution of skill, precision and athleticism as divers from different eras compete for Olympic glory. The film celebrates diving’s rich history while showcasing the incredible advancements and innovations that have been achieved over the past century.
I’ve always loved watching the Olympics, and it’s really fun and cool to look back and see what it was like over 100 years ago.
