Yes, it’s that time again, and Disney+ is going up in price for both its ad-free and ad-included tiers, so make sure you have a few dollars to spare each month.

Price increases for streaming services appear to be an annual tradition these days, as Disney raised the prices of its streaming services last year. Well, it has done so again, as the House of Mouse has confirmed that it will be raising prices again sometime on October 17th. , those of you with an ad-free subscription will see the same price increase, jumping from $13.99 to $15.99 per month. At the ad-free level, you can save some money by opting for a one-year subscription, but the cost will also increase, from $139.99 to $159.99 per year.

On the bright side, Disney+ is re-inviting TV channels, yay! When you have to spend an extra two bucks a month, that’s definitely something you want to see happen, right? Of course, Disney didn’t call them TV channels, instead opting for the title “Sequential Playlists,” which was agreed upon at the board meeting. “Playlists are the latest example of how we’re delivering the best value and experience every time our subscribers turn on Disney+,” Disney+ President Alisa Bowen said in a statement. “Whether it’s news, kids’ content, popular genres, hit TV shows or blockbusters, based on the season and interests, everyone will have a viewing experience that suits them.

Sometime in the fall, four curated playlists will roll out to Premium subscribers, featuring “seasonal content” that, as the packaging says, includes season-related media, “epic stories” Featured titles from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, The Destination for Retro Pop Culture Content, and Real Life, where you’ll find documentaries, biopics, and true stories. Not exactly the TV channel you know, but a new, second thing. kind of.

Disney has also announced its intention to crack down on password sharing this year, so if you’re currently sharing your account with someone else, you may want to be prepared to pay more than the price increase.
