Disney releases new trailer for its upcoming movie Mufasa: The Lion Kingdebuting at the D23 Expo. The trailer is now online for everyone to watch.
The film is a prequel to the original film and tells the story of the rise of the Pride Lands’ greatest king… Mufasa.
This movie is from the director Barry Jenkins of moonlight and If Beale Street could talka story he’s very excited about and passionate about telling.
He explained that he had watched the original film hundreds of times as a child and it was clearly one of the films that inspired him.
The story “has Rafiki recounting the legend of Mufasa to Kiara, the lion cub, daughter of Simba and Nala, while Timon and Pumbaa pull off their signature tricks.
“Told in flashback, Mufasa is an orphaned cub, lost and alone, until he meets a compassionate lion named Taka – the heir to the royal bloodline.
“This chance encounter sets off a group of extraordinary misfits on an expansive journey to find their destiny – and their bonds will be tested as they must work together to evade a threatening and deadly enemy.”
The film’s voice actors include Aaron Pierre As Mufasa, Kevin Harrison Jr. As taka, Seth Rogen Just like Peng Peng, Billy Eichner As Timon, John Carney Just like Rafiki.
The rest of the cast includes Tiffany Boone, peace rain, Preston Nyman, Thank you Newton, Mads Mixon, Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, John Carney, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter As Nala and introduce blue ivy carter Plays Kiara, the daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala.
The film’s script was written by Jeff Nathansonsame author in 2019 lion king.
Walt Disney Pictures will distribute Mufasa: The Lion King Released on December 20, 2024.
