“WandaVision” is Marvel Studios’ first series on Disney+ in 2021, but Kathryn Hahn’s witch Agatha Harkness was left powerless in the finale and took more than three years to return to around her. But in the new trailer for Agatha’s Journey, Agatha hatches a plan to regain everything she’s lost and more… if her new coven can help her get there. The end.
The power Agatha desires seems to come at a high price, and she’s perfectly willing to let her so-called friends and allies in her pack pay the price before she does. Wanda Maximoff isn’t featured in the trailer, but the show will indeed delve deeper into the magical world than we’ve seen before in the Marvel Universe. Still, Doctor Strange’s witchcraft isn’t witchcraft.
In addition to premiering the new trailer at D23, Hahn and her cast members — Aubrey Plaza, Joe Rourke, Patti LuPone, Sahir Zamata, Ari Ahn and Deb La Joe Rupp – also took to the stage to perform “Witch Road Song,” an original song from WandaVision Kristen Anderson Lopez and Robert Lopez.
The first two episodes of “Agatha Always” will premiere on Disney+ on September 18. But this isn’t Marvel’s only showcase at D23. The Human Torch used his costume in Fantastic Four, plus exclusive trailers for Daredevil: Rebirth and Ironheart. Star Wars also debuted a trailer for Skull Crew, as well as early trailers for The Mandalorian and Grogu. Pixar talked about Toy Story 5, Avatar 3 got a title, and TRON: Ares showed off some footage.
