2XKO’s Alpha Lab test has been open for less than a day, and players have already discovered deadly combos. These combinations – some of them niche, others of them really useful – give us a glimpse into the playful potential of Riot’s own fighting game.
There are two main reasons why these problems were discovered so quickly. This Alpha Labs testing period is expected to last approximately two weeks and is not just an online Match Alpha. Instead, dedicated training mode tools are provided for players looking to optimize their gameplay, providing a stable practice space for discovering such combinations. Additionally, many of the pioneers of such combinations have actually played the game before, both in public matches at Evo 2024 and elsewhere, and in private Riot events.

So let’s dive into some of these combinations! Edwin – Square Enix’s community manager and long-time fighting game player – tweeted about their own version of Darius x Ekko’s Deathtouch. This starts with a regular old media click in the center of the screen and takes five bars in total. The cost is very high, but not impossible to achieve in actual games. It also uses dual fuses, allowing Edwin to chain superheroes together and dish out some massive damage.

Recent Mortal Kombat 1 winner SonicFox released a similar combo late last night. Using Ahri and Ekko and five super gauge bars, as well as a 2X assist fuse that allows multiple uses of Ahri’s air projectile assist, we get a clean Death Touch combo. You love seeing it.

Obviously, these are cool. But what can you do when you get hit by a combo like this? Well, 2XKO has a burst system. This is basically a “let me go” button that allows you to break out of combos at the cost of some assist bars. That doesn’t mean these combos are useless – getting hit by one of them basically forces you to risk death by bursting out – just don’t expect these sure-kill combos to happen within the first 10 seconds End game.
