Hello, dear readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade roundup for August 9, 2024. All in all, it’s a nice end to a relatively solid week in the Switch world. This summer sure flies by, doesn’t it? It’s a little faster every year, but I guess that’s the way time works. Let’s start the game!

    message

“Pokemon Mystery Dungeon” Added to Nintendo Switch Online GBA App

Oh hey, a new game for Nintendo Switch Online. Specifically, it works with the Game Boy Advance app, so you’ll need to upgrade as part of your subscription. If you do, please do the amazing updates and enjoy some Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. For many Westerners, this was their first exposure to roguelike games. It’s a good first step into this world, as it’s gentle while still maintaining a decent degree of depth. This is still a very fun game and I suppose you could use the emulator feature to cheat if you wanted to. Neat?

    DOOM + DOOM II ($9.99)

This is our annual Quakecon surprise and I can honestly say I didn’t rewrite the previous two with the KEX engine. doom The “game” on my bingo card. human game.

Escape from the Pharaoh’s Tomb ($4.99)

Now that’s some five dollar energy. It’s a puzzle platformer, but the puzzle portion basically boils down to the type of tilting a mirror to adjust the angle of a beam. Two very familiar things, but taken together they might make a trip worth the meager asking price.

    Boom Robot ($4.99)

I guess you could drop that five bucks here if you wanted. It’s a top-down party action game for up to 8 players, played via local multiplayer. You control the robot and try to blow each other up. I suspect this meal isn’t very fancy, but maybe it will find a place in the right person’s library.

    Ride ticket ($29.99)

ride ticket For those even remotely familiar with the modern board game landscape, it probably doesn’t need much introduction. This is the digital version of the popular game about building a railroad empire. Oddly enough, if you want to play multiplayer, you have to go online. Local play is single-player with the CPU only. If this is not a problem for you and ride ticket No matter where you are, it sounds like what you’re looking for is right here.

    Starlight Eldorado Review ($29.99)

This is a visual novel based on a popular anime starlight review. Sometimes these games can appeal to people outside of their fan base, and sometimes they focus more on fan service, and this is more of the latter. That being said, for those fans out there? This is a must play game, hands down. You’ll see tons of backgrounds for a variety of characters and see new sides to characters you’re familiar with. If nothing else, a game that definitely knows its audience.

    Cruise Fighter ($9.99)

Finally, we have a party shooter for up to 4 players, with local and online multiplayer support. There are fourteen different characters to choose from, as well as a number of arenas to fight in.

    sales volume

    (North American e-store, US prices)

Lots of interesting things in my inbox today. Picross games, bethesda games, Brotto, cocoon… There are a lot of really good games to consider. As for the outbox, it’s a long list but oddly enough it doesn’t mean much to me. Except Mushihimesama, I will remind you, it will be delisted, like…tomorrow? the day after tomorrow? Grab it! And check these checklists while you’re at it!

Hope you all have a great weekend, and as always, thank you for reading!
