Would this have been a season 21 episode of The Bachelorette if Jenn hadn’t been testing her fear of heights with these unsuspecting men?
I’m starting to wonder if she’s been lying a little bit about the whole altitude thing, because she never misses an opportunity to jump, fly, or do anything in the clouds.
But I’ll give it to her. You can’t be mad at her for snuggling up to her man at every opportunity.
I forgot we didn’t actually have a rose ceremony to end the first hour until things started.
Let’s be honest: Jenn will never let Matthew back.
If that was really the guy she wanted to be with, and already had a history with, she would immediately welcome him back, or call it all off and run away with him.

She has neither.
Having him stand in front of the men and apologize was one of the most embarrassing things about the season, including the striptease.
Those guys act like they’ll leave if Jenn invites that guy on a trip, which is ridiculous because they’re not going anywhere.
Devon is here until the end, y’all. He may complain, but he sees the addition of new people as a challenge.
Hopefully Matthew can spend some time in New Zealand before returning to Boston! I don’t believe it’s possible to stay somewhere shorter than it takes to catch a round trip flight!
The rose ceremony was quiet, mostly because there wasn’t any conversation with Jenn, but eventually, John and Thomas N.’s time came.
The remaining nine felt like they were the ones Jenn felt the most – some more than others.
After the rose ceremony that was supposed to take place in the final episode, the next day brought coffee talks and one-on-ones with Jonathan.
Remember when Jonathon first met Jenn dressed like an extra from Grey’s Anatomy, face covered and butt stuck up? Do you think he’s still here now?
The thing about Jenn and Jonathon is that they feel like good friends. Their vibe is devoid of any deep emotional connection. They clearly feel that way too, which is why they act silly and cute during the day portion of the date, then get deadly serious at night.
In Bachelor Land you have to go from 0 to 60 for obvious reasons, but having to release your relationship trauma every time the lights go out and the candles are lit must be exhausting for guys .
Jonathan explains why he is emotionally closed off and I will be too. It’s one hell of a story, and Jenn has another person she thinks knows about her past. Just after an unexpected shower, she gave him a rose.

It feels stagey, but as a firm believer in Sweet Home Alabama being one of the best romantic comedies ever made, I stand by it.
As Jenn and Jonathan grew closer, they were given a date card, and it became clear that if Austin didn’t get one-on-one time, he was going to be out of there.
Of course, he doesn’t, and we see everyone except Grant being transported to a sheep farm, where they have to play farmer for the day for Jenn’s heart. Diane and Richard run a tight ship!
The best part of the date is seeing how all the different people choose to wear their flannel shirts.
The mandatory requirement for German is also what we are looking forward to.
You’d think by this whole thing, the guys would have figured out that she liked Devin’s arrogance and willingness to put Jenn first no matter what during the group date.
Instead, they’d rather talk about their own business and clean up sheep poop. I can’t feel sorry for them.
Somehow, Devon wins over as the farmer for the day, which leads to them making out on a sheep farm. He’s still the one to beat.
The date night portion brings the drama of the episode, with Austin deciding to call it quits. I can understand why Jenn would be upset, but what does she know about Austin?
They don’t spend much time together and she’s further along with almost every other guy there, so it’s not a matter of him not choosing her, it’s a matter of him choosing himself because he knows these other men are more committed and Have better connections.
It makes sense that he doesn’t think he can catch up enough to avoid heartbreak.
At the same time, Jenn feels like she’s letting Austin down, which is a hard feeling. It made her feel bad for the rest of the night, which was very relatable.

These guys do a great job of validating her feelings and making her feel seen, which is great for her.
Jenn didn’t send roses because the mood was too high, that’s all.
The next day was Jen and Grant’s horseback riding date. Please don’t interrupt me when I say this, but these two have absolutely no chemistry. It pains me to say it!
They’re all such beautiful, friendly, mature adults, but when you see Jenn with Devin, Marcus, Jonathon, gosh, even Sam M., there’s something about those interactions that Grant just doesn’t have.
This sucks because you can tell Grant really likes her and she likes him, but it’s not enough.
Their date also had a rainy sequence, but it looked cold. The evening portion dealt more with family trauma connections, but Grant was so genuine and kind. He wants to be a good person and If Jenn doesn’t want to marry him, I will.
Jenn gives Grant a rose, but if I had to place a bet now, he won’t be able to return to his hometown.
Cocktails and rose ceremonies dampened the energy, which was the theme of the hour. Jen canceled the party because she knew what she needed to do, and I loved that about her.
She was in a moment where she was either connected or not. And it wasn’t Dylan’s business, so he was fired.
Dylan is so cute, he should submit a bachelor’s degree application because he’s just a total package.
We’re down to the final seven, and in the montage at the end of the episode, basically everyone breaks down at some point, lots of “I love yous,” and Jenny stands at the end telling them not to suggest anything.
