HBO has released sneak previews of several major series in 2025, including the second season of “The Last of Us”, the third season of “The White Lotus”, the “Game of Thrones” spin-off “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”, etc. The footage from The Last of Us offers the first new look at the future for Joel (Pedro Pascal), Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and the horrors that await.
It’s a quick 25-second shot, but in it we get a quick glimpse of the tattoo cover-up on Ellie’s arm, her lover Dina (Isabella Merced), Seraphites ( aka Scar) and Jeffrey Wright reprise their roles as Isaac. There’s also a mysterious character played by Catherine O’Hara who talks to Pascal’s Joel.
HBO released preliminary photos of Joel and Ellie back in May, and fans snapped more photos of Ramsey and Merced in Vancouver. The second season of the Emmy-winning series will revolve around the events of The Last of Us Part II, as the longer sequel has several seasons worth of material.
It’s been confirmed that the long-awaited second season will only be seven episodes long, and with HBO dropping crumbs along the way, it will be a long time before The Last of Us fans get their fill of the meal.
