Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Bugbear Entertainment have released Wreckfest 2, the follow-up to 2018’s highly entertaining destruction derby racing game.
“Climb to the throne of full-contact racing and win by breaking the rules and everything else! Developer Bugbear has gone all out to rebuild its realistic physics simulation engine to take full advantage of modern hardware,” says the official synopsis on Steam. “Wreckfest 2 features higher collision fidelity, deeper armor and damage systems, more complex component damage simulation, and more improvements across the board!”
Details are scarce at the moment, but we do know the game will offer career mode, challenge modes, tournaments, and more, as well as post-launch content updates. Honestly, though, I wish games would stop doing this – it’s okay to release a game and have it be the final product without constantly adding more content. I think developers have realized that the financial cost is worth it
The headline news appears to be a new custom kit.
“Forget about primitive supercars: ours are old, dented, and in need of touch-ups. They each tell a story, and now you can tell your own by fully customizing your ride. Newly designed customization tools are powerful, allowing you to build the car of your dreams! Let your creativity run wild and share your designs with other online racers and wreckers.
A release date has yet to be announced, but we do know that Wreckfest 2 will be releasing on consoles and PC.
