The new Warbond is coming to Helldivers 2, and players are excited and annoyed about it. It’s fair to say, with a name like “Freedom Fire”, there was always the potential for this piece of equipment to excite the napalm enthusiasts in the community – and that’s exactly what it did.
After its name popped up in some misbehaving PlayStation notifications a few weeks ago, Liberty Flames Premium Battle Debt has now been officially announced and will be released on August 8, right after the big Liberty Level Up update.

As you’ve read on the PlayStation Blog, Freedom’s Flame includes a range of common things to add to your loud sound, and the big theme this time around is, fire.
Weapons-wise, there’s a small shotgun with incendiary phosphorus rounds called the “Cookout,” a lightweight flamethrower called the “Torcher,” and even a cute little shooting pistol called the “Crisper.” There’s also a chance to turn your hell pod into some kind of firebomb that will set things on fire when you land, which sounds completely safe.

In terms of armor, the Heatseeker suit is a bit reddish – perfect for cosplaying as a fire truck – while parts of the Draconaught suit look like they’ve been wrapped in tinfoil, perfect for hanging out where the bad guys hang out. New passive skills along with these provide 75% resistance to fire damage, which is also useful if everything is about to burn. Additionally, there are some common capes and emotes to spice up, as well as the ability to paint your exosuit orange.
What do players think of these new additions? Well, the game’s subreddit is currently abuzz with people craving the idea of a flamethrower, a construct that would be able to rock three different flamethrowers at once, so I’d say that sums up the mood.
Additionally, some players have begun campaigning for Arrowhead to add an “orbital flamethrower,” which unleashes “tornadoes of fire” that attack enemies—or something else that makes them rain fire from the sky—into the game once All of this other stuff arrives because the word “overkill” is one that Helldivers 2 players actively deride.
