Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has collected a lot of player feedback in recent months, whether it’s bugs that need to be fixed or improvements that the community wants to see. The latest example was started by CEO Shams Jorjani, who did some outreach on Reddit to understand how people wanted to better connect resources to development.
In a post on the gaming subreddit (thanks to GamesRadar), Jorjani (who goes by his wonderful username BigKahuna_AGS) outlined that, with the permission of the game’s designers, he’s seeking some player feedback. The problem at hand? How resources (medals, samples, application forms, etc.) obtained by completing tasks are integrated into the long-term process.

“Many of us (let’s face it, you) have exhausted our funds, are sitting on vast amounts of digital gold (gold Jerry, gold!), and want to use it patriotically to further the war effort (i.e. more Interesting way to go) So I’m here to hear your best ideas,” he wrote.
“We have our own designs and ideas, but we’d love to hear what you think,” Giorgiani continued. “In due course, we may formalize how we solicit such feedback into a proper survey, but I Just a humble nerd question Currently, Reddit is a good alternative as it allows the best ideas to surface (hopefully).
“So please come to us with interesting ideas on how we can use resources (existing or new) to achieve long-term progress (*vaguely wavering*) in a way that still fits the overall design of the game. We remain committed to that A bit of streaming/video blogging and follow-up content on this topic could be an interesting topic to discuss in due course.
The CEO then quickly added a disclaimer, saying that the post should not be interpreted as “a promise or indication that things may or will change, or that your idea will ever be used” but rather as “a friendly dialogue”. Oh, and apparently the team has rejected poor Jorjani’s tongue-in-cheek suggestion that it was “just copying the Goldeneye64 mod as a fun thing to unlock”.
As of this writing, the thread is already filled with ideas from hardcore super soldiers sharing their thoughts. Seriously, the current review has at least four different ways to use excess resources, from options to convert them into things players lack, to creating community-wide resource pots that players can contribute to impact galactic warfare – e.g. , by funding defense measures to make affected planets easier to defend.
