August is here, and this month, Prime Gaming members have access to an incredible number of PC games. The games will be available in weekly waves as part of the Prime subscription service, and subscribers can look forward to some steampunk robot adventures, Lara Croft’s archaeological adventures, and more. Available now, you can add SteamWorld Heist, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and a few Tomb Raider games to your collection. SteamWorld Heist is getting a sequel this month, so if you want to experience the raw thrill of a steam-powered pirate crew engaging in tactical gunfights, this is the game to do it. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided isn’t quite as good as 2010’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but it’s still a solid stealth action game in which you uncover global conspiracies and form strange alliances. Since this is the GOG version of the game, you’ll get the DRM-free version and enjoy additional in-game missions.
The week wraps up with old-school Lara Croft games released in the early to mid-2000s, including Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Chronicle, and Angel of Darkness. These were the last mainline games developed by Core Design, with publisher Eidos Interactive handing the franchise over to Crystal Dynamics after Dark Angel’s poor critical reception.
Starting from August 8th, there are more exciting games waiting for you to grab. Loop Hero is a complex but engaging deck-building game, and Trek to Yomi is a compelling samurai story. Over the next week, you can check out the story-rich fantasy adventure game Baldur’s Gate 2, and if you’re in the mood for some catchy tunes, Wandering Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is a beautifully-appointed Illustrated RPG with some killer tracks. Released last year, it’s a hidden gem that tells a fascinating story focused on the healing power of art and music.
The rest of the month includes some more noteworthy games like Arcade Paradise, Industria, South of the Circle, and The Collage Atlas, as well as some casual games.
