This week I received a surprise gift from a friend. This is a single card Final Fantasy Trading Card Game. Especially for Ysayle, my favorite character final fantasy 14. I knew it before I received it. Final Fantasy Trading Card Game existed, but never really thought about it, and now I’m down the rabbit hole.
this Final Fantasy Trading Card Game just like Magic: The Gathering But there are iconic characters and monsters from Square Enix’s RPG series. The game has some complexity, especially with magic. Instead of different colors of magic, eight different elements determine similar properties. Players still have to build their own decks, FFTCG It must have exactly 50 cards. Inflict 7 points of damage directly to your opponent to win.
There are also some specific mechanisms FFTCG Whether to try to solve common problems MTG. As elaborated in a useful Reddit postal, FFTCG Have appropriate smart resource systems in place to respond MTGCommon bottlenecks force you into a card draw loop. It also has a mechanic called “EX Burst” that gives the losing player a better chance to change the situation, giving you more control over how the game plays out and not being so constrained by card draw.
All these specific mechanisms make FFTCG It sounds great, and as someone who has only dabbled in card games but never fully committed to them, it makes me think this might be a more welcome experience. Card design is also a major part of it. I’m right final fantasy series and its impeccable character designs. Seeing some of my favorite protagonists, villains, and weird little guys represented on cards in beautiful art styles makes me want to buy a bunch, even just to look at them. I haven’t actually played a game yet, and it’s not just because I only have one card.
There are fans FFTCG over there. Just watch the game Reddit subsection or specialized websites, e.g. ffdecks.combut the community is definitely smaller than MTGof. Living in New York City, I’m sure I could find a local game store that would occasionally run games, but overall, opportunities to play seemed to be few and far between. As a newbie, it’s hard to find a casual place to learn the basics. I could buy as many cards as I wanted and read the rules (which I already did), but I wouldn’t have anyone to play with, and I don’t think my fiancĂ©e would appreciate me trying to force her to play. What confuses me even more is that there is no online version.
like Magic: The Gathering Arena Making this card game more accessible to players around the world and serving as a great entry point for curious new players, FFTCG. However, I think my interest in the game is growing until an excellent online version of the game is released Final Fantasy Trading Card Game Will be limited to buying cards so I can review them. Although it turns out my friend’s gift timing was strategic, like August 2nd, FFTCG will release hidden trial, its latest set. Maybe I need to consider setting up a Discord contest, at least so I can be forgiven for the unwise spending I’m considering doing right now.
