Black Myth: Wukong is a long and challenging game filled with over 80 bosses and tons of enemy types that will test your skills if you want to make it to one of the endings. The game’s opening hours leave you with a lot to learn and think about, and getting a handle on how the game’s various mechanics work can take some getting used to. So, we’ve put together a list of early game tips here to hopefully help you during the game’s opening hours. Black Myth: Wukong.

Kotaku hopes for Spyro’s return (reportedly)

Specs don’t get punished, so try new things

Respect your skills without being punished Black Myth: Wukongso you should try out different builds and stances to see what works best for your playstyle. When you want to respec, simply go to any shrine and select “Rekindle the Spark” under the “Self Advance” tab.

We highly recommend investing in skills early on that give you extra health, stamina, and man range, but feel free to skip these if you’re confident!

Pick up all the materials you see

As you wander around the game’s open explorable areas, you’ll see an abundance of flowers and herbs scattered throughout. Choose them all! Although you might not be able to use them for the first few hours, you’ll eventually be able to craft useful medicines to help you in combat, and you’ll be glad you’ve been collecting materials for them.

Don’t worry – death won’t have any major consequences

Different from traditional souls games, death Black Myth: Wukong There aren’t any major consequences other than sending you back to the nearest shrine and all enemies respawning. This means you don’t have to worry about the usual soul-like mechanic of dropping your experience on death. Instead, you’ll retain all the willpower you earned and be ready to try again.

You can always fight the wandering ghouls later

The Wandering Ghoul is a boss playing on the right side of the forest. If you’re patient enough and practice enough, you might be able to knock him out the first time you see him. More likely, though, you’ll want to come back later (perhaps when you reach the Batu Caves) after you’ve upgraded your staff and gear. You’ll find it much easier to defeat him then.

    Be prepared before facing Lingxuzi

For veteran players like Souls, Ling Xuzi won’t be an overwhelmingly challenging boss, but he’ll still hit you like a truck and can be taken out quickly if you haven’t fully understood the game’s unique combat mechanics. you.

With this in mind, the goal is to reach around level 9 or 10 before facing off against Ling Xuzi. When you get enough sparks, buy at least the first three health upgrades in the survival skill tree. Also, make sure to craft Pilgrim’s Armor at the shrine for added defense. With the extra health and defense, you’ll be better able to take a few hits when fighting Ling Xuzi, so go give him hell.

If you need to collect extra willpower to purchase some skills or crafting materials, you can hone it in the “Outside the Forest” area as needed.

Don’t miss the huge health boost after defeating Ling Xuzi

After defeating Ling Xuzi, you can freely enter the temple in front of you. While you may be tempted to waltz in and head to a nearby shrine to rest, be sure to stop inside the temple first.

There is an elixir on the left side of the inner sanctum that you can pick up and it will significantly increase your health, further improving your ability to survive future dangers.

Also don’t miss Batu Caves’ massive mana boost

After defeating a certain boss, you will enter an area called Batu Caves. When you complete the first part of the location, you will have a path to the left that leads to a wooden deck with a meditation spot. Next to the Meditation Point is another elixir that will greatly increase your mana reserves, allowing you to use spells more often.

    Make some heavenly elixirs.

    Don’t neglect mental skills

You’ll meet an NPC early on who will upgrade your gourd and allow you to absorb some of the boss’s soul. Doing so will give you their spirit skill, allowing you to briefly transform into them during combat and perform an action when you build up enough ki. These can do some serious damage, especially to bosses. But more importantly, they provide passive bonuses when equipped, such as a Wandering Ghoul’s increased defense.

You can even upgrade each soul in the shrine by selecting “Grow a Soul” under the “Self-Upgrade” tab. But be aware that you will sometimes need to find special items in your adventure to continue leveling up.
