But survived 72 hours Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered EditionWillamette Parkview Mall isn’t easy – it forces you to manage your time well and weigh the pros and cons of saving people versus fighting. To make your time a little easier, here are 16 essential tips for surviving in a mall full of psychopaths and zombies that you’ll be glad to know.
time is always moving
No matter what you do in the game, time is always moving. So you need to make sure you’re not doing anything pointless. Good time management is crucial, even for core main quests. That means you can stop time if you pause the game or every time you open the map.
you may fail Dead Risingmain story and continue playing
If you don’t reach a specific area within the deadline, you may fail the main story. If this happens, text will appear on the screen letting you know that you can no longer play the main story. But don’t worry, because if you want to keep playing, you absolutely can – you’ll just be excluded from certain storylines.
You must progress in the game to unlock more shortcuts
Early in the game, you’ll notice that certain areas of the mall are cordoned off. The only way to reach them is through the huge park in the middle. But if you continue to progress through the main story, more and more shortcuts will open up for you, making it easier to move through the mall.
you can shout for help
If you’re looking for survivors and can’t find them, you can shout out their names! If they’re close enough, they should respond, which will help you determine where they are.
You can farm weapons
If you find a random weapon that you really like, take note of where you found it because you can easily use it. To do this, you need to leave the area you are in and click on the loading screen. Once you’ve done this, return to the location you just left and return to where you found the weapon. It should be in the same location as last time. You can do this however you wish, but for it to work you need to click on the loading screen.
You can create superfoods
Whenever you visit an area with a kitchen, you’re likely to find some food nearby. Also, you may see a blender somewhere nearby. Blenders can be used to mix foods together. If you combine the right items together, you can unlock special abilities like acid spit, or create something that completely restores your health.
You can upgrade your camera
Of course, there aren’t many camera shops in the mall, but there are enough for you to pay attention to. The shops offer a variety of upgrades you can use on your camera, and while these won’t give you an upper hand when fighting enemies, they will help you take better photos, which is always good.
Pay attention to PP
Speaking of cameras, you need to look out for the letters “PP.” They usually only pop up when you’re looking through the camera lens, but if you take a photo, they expose areas that provide a lot of XP. So make sure to use your camera often because you never know when you might run across a PP area. (Snig – Ed)
you might accidentally kill Dead Risingsurvivors
Whenever you’re trying to rescue a survivor or bring a survivor back to the safe room, pay attention to where you’re wielding your ridiculous weapon. If you don’t pay attention to their health, you may accidentally kill them and lose XP.
Survivors will point things out for you
When rescuing survivors in a mall, they will usually point you to areas. For example, they will notify you if you are near a PP area and put an icon on the map for you. Or, if you’re walking near a tree, they might notice a pistol in the bushes for you to use.
Spiritual weapons always regenerate
Psychopaths often drop really useful weapons after killing them. Don’t worry about them disappearing, though, as they’ll always spawn in the exact location you find them. So if you want to farm some of the most powerful weapons in the game, you can easily do so after killing them.
Survivors can also be annoying
Even though rescuing survivors is a key part of the game, that doesn’t mean they can’t be annoying. They often find themselves cornered or surrounded by zombies. To help with this, be sure to provide them with decent weapons so they can defend themselves. If you have a gun, give it to them because you don’t have to worry about them running out of ammo. Many times, one shot will knock the zombies back, giving you enough time to get back to help them. If you notice that their health is low, you can heal them by giving them food.
Don’t ignore Otis
Once you get past the game’s opening scene, Otis will give you a walkie-talkie and call you frequently. When he does this, don’t be rude and ignore his call. Otis will often give you clues on where to find the psychopaths and help you find survivors in the mall. Plus, this is the first time Capcom has voiced the guy.
Prisoners will always spawn
When you first go dark, you’ll be greeted by three prisoners in a military vehicle, complete with machine guns. How they got it is anyone’s guess. But it’s worth mentioning that these guys keep spawning no matter what. If you happen to kill one, leave the park and come back, all three will be alive again.
Note that you can remove the machine gun from the vehicle, and it’s one of the most powerful weapons in the game, but getting it is no easy task. Most of the time you’re better off escaping from the prisoners.
Save Greg Simpson
Greg Simpson is a survivor you can rescue on day one. To do this, you need to kill the clown on the roller coaster. After you rescue him, Greg will show you a shortcut that takes you to the side of the mall where you can enter the security room. It’s crucial to know this because if you want to avoid prisoners, this is the best way to do it without endangering your life or that of any survivors.
Avoid the dust of cults
Without giving away too much of the plot, you’ll start encountering a cult at some point in the game. They wore yellow raincoats and came in groups. They will throw dust at you when you get close enough to them; if you are caught in the explosion, you will be knocked down. When you wake up, you lose all your belongings and are in your underwear. So unless you want to encounter a challenging fight, avoid Dust at all costs.
You’re ready to take on the hordes. Don’t forget you only have three days to get everything done, make sure you hit those major story beats and then you’re good to go.
